From spring rains to winter snow, ShurTrax all weather traction bags provide improved handling and control year round. When filled with water, they can add up to 400 lbs. of weight over your rear axle, where it's most needed.

Lay or anchor the bag to your vehicle and attach a garden hose to the nozzle, which is included. Fill the bag with 3" of water. Designed to freeze, the water becomes a solid block of ice. During the summer, baffles keep the water from sloshing around, making it safe and stable. The baffles are �die-electrically welded� into place.

Over-all ShurTrax integrity is protected by a super tough 25 mil vinyl outer chamber. This outer chamber vinyl is UV resistant and reinforced with woven nylon mesh for long service. the inner chamber is also 25 mil, and flexes, enabling a smooth ride and improved handling.

The ShurTrax bags are backed by a two year warranty and have been tested to -40 below F without bursting. Four brass grommets allow additional secure tie downs.

There is no need to remove a bag every time you want to use your vehicle for hauling. ShurTrax bags are so tough, they will support cargo weighing up to 500 lbs! If you want to store ShurTrax, just drain and roll up.

What Happens When Water Freezes in the ShurTrax?

ShurTrax expands and contracts during the normal freezing/thawing that occurs below 32 degrees. It is filled with only 3 inches of water which allows sufficient room for expansion. The material is extremely durable. It will withstand temperatures as low as -40 degrees.

I Run a Delivery Service in an Area with Little Snow. Should I use ShurTrax in my Truck?

There is often a need for ShurTrax in warmer climates. Heavy rain can cause slippery conditions resulting in hydroplaning. The additional weight of ShurTrax helps distribute your vehicle's weight and performance.

How Much Weight Will ShurTrax Add to my Vehicle?

The 3" fill level will provide an additional 300 lbs. for the Compact Unit and 400 lbs. for the Full Size Unit. However, you can add or remove weight by adjusting the water level from 1 to 6" without harming the ShurTrax.

Can I Haul Cargo on Top of the ShurTrax?

The ShurTrax can support up to 500 lbs. of flat cargo. It cannot support items with sharp edges or points.

Will the ShurTrax Slide Around?

Its weight is usually sufficient to keep the ShurTrax in place, however sudden braking may cause it to inch forward. The ShurTrax has grommets molded into the design, to strap or bolt it in place.

How Durable is the Material?

ShurTrax is designed with two layers of super tough material. The inner layer is a smooth, water-resistant material that provides a super high-quality seal. The outer layer is a tough, rot, mildew and tear-resistant nylon mesh that's woven through two layers of vinyl. The material is also rated to withstand outdoor temperatures as low as -40 degrees Fahrenheit (actual degrees, not wind-chill).

Can You Explain the Outer Seal and Baffles?

The outer seal is a very important part of the design. Dies were made allowing us to make one continuous outer seal and eliminate the use of seams. The baffles are also very important. The baffles prevent the water from surging or thrusting by keeping the water isolated inside four separate compartments.

Can I Put Anti-Freeze or Winterizing Fluid Inside the ShurTrax?

SealPak does not recommend you put anything inside your ShurTrax except water. However, if you so desire, a non-toxic fluid known as Freeze Proof -100 should be used. Adding 10 gallons of this non-toxic winterizer to the large ShurTrax will eliminate freezing of the water.
