At full burn, the Fire Dancer burns at a rate of about 1 pound of LPG (propane) per hour. A standard barbecue tank (5 gallon size) holds about 20 pounds of propane.

The Forest Service or BLM does not approve devices for out-door use. Instead the Forest Service and BLM consider the Fire Dancer to be a "Fueled Device" similar to an fuel powered, out-door cooking stove. Therefore the Fire Dancer is restricted in the same way as any other out-door fueled device.
What is the material in the Fire Dancer fire pit?
The material in the Fire Dancer fire pit is vermiculite. It is a common insulation material which is also used in natural gas fireplace & log sets to simulate ashes.
Does the vermiculite need to be replaced?
The vermiculite does not normally need to be replaced. The consumption of the material is negligible. As the Fire Dancer is used, the vermiculite may become charred. This is normal and does not affect the operation of the unit. If vermiculite is lost, or you wish to refresh the material, it's readily available from the manufacturer.
Does the Fire Dancer have UL approval?
All of the components used in the Fire Dancer fire pit, such as the hose, valve, and regulator are UL approved.
Is the Fire Dancer Guaranteed?
Yes, all parts and workmanship are 100% guaranteed for a full 3 years.
Can a longer hose be added to the Fire Dancer?
Yes if the hose is a proper high pressure hose made for propane applications with the proper attachments. Because the included hose, has a regulator and is low pressure, a high pressure hose can be added between the regulator and the propane tank.
